Backup and restore manual Windows and Office licenses

Do you need to back up to restore Windows and Office copyrights after new installation? The article will guide you to backup and restore without the support software.

Note: Windows 10 re-activates itself when connecting to the Internet, so there is no need to do these steps.

This method is applicable when you correctly install a Windows and Office version on a specific device. That is, when you installed Windows ABC and Office XYZ on the computer LOL then, after installing it, it must still be ABC, XYZ, LOL. And with this method, you need to remember the key you used to activate Windows and Office.

Prepare

  • The Windows key used to activate ( slmgr.vbs -ipk format XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX ).
  • The Office key is used to activate ( XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXXformat ).

Backup

1. Successfully activate Windows and Office.

2. Open This PC / File Explorer and access the following link:

C: Windows System32pp

3. Copy the store , paste folder and store it in a safe place with the keys.

So you have successfully backed up Windows and Office licenses.

Recovery

1. Successfully install Windows and Office.

2. Re- enter the Windows and Office key (note that entering the key successfully does not mean that you have copyright).

  • Windows: Use CMD with administrative rights, type slmgr.vbs -ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX with the string XXX is the key, press Enter, wait a while until you see the success message.
  • Office: Open Control Panel , select Programs and Features , select Office , select Change , tick the Change key box, enter the key and follow the instructions.

3. Paste
over the store folder that you backed up under the old path.

So you have successfully restored Windows and Office licenses. Right-click This PC / File Explorer on the Desktop, select Properties to view the Windows results and open any Office software, select File , select Accountto view Office results.
